This is the video from the Hometown Heroes Ceremony. The White Oak 5th Grade students and teachers did a fabulous job honoring our local heroes. This is just a small sample of the pride and respect that our school has for the community of White Oak. This video was produced by Scott Morton using Final Cut Pro Studio and is 180MB so it will take some time to download.

Such an important learning opportunity for our 5th grade students.

What operation or operations do I use? Use these to help you figure out your plan. Next ask yourself, "Is my answer reasonable?"

After a study on mammals, our class decided to make an alphabet book using the vocabulary we had learned about whales. Each student chose a letter of the alphabet, wrote a rhyming couplet, and a brief informational passage about the subject. Click below to see and hear our product. The transitions between slides take a few seconds, so be sure to watch the entire presentation. Thank you.

To honor Dr. Suess, the fourth grade students of Mrs. Carrington, Mrs. Lawrence, and Mrs. McCurdy participated nationwide internet consortium that offered students the opportunity to learn more about this favorite children's author. Check out our fabulous work!
