Reader's Theater "NO Math" Day read by Mrs. Barlow's Class

The students practiced a reader's theater in guided reading. Reader's Theater's help students with fluency and expression. They really enjoyed the story. It was exciting for them to share what they learned from the story with another class, as well as being on video for their family to see. We hope you enjoy!

The Missing Pets! by Mrs. Barlow's Class

The students have written an interactive story together. We used the writing process and story elements to create our story. They began the process by webbing their ideas. They then wrote the story while sharing the pen. They discussed interesting words and details to add to the story. We revised and edited our story. The students illustrated the pictures and decided to publish the story by reading it to you. We hope you enjoy!

Number Corner

The students wanted to show off all that they learn at Number Corner. We do Number Corner each day to practice skills that we are learning. As we learn new skills and vocabulary, we practice it in Number Corner for a great review.

The following table is a list of the no-excuse words that the students will be responsible for this year in first grade. Please feel free to print them out and use them as flash cards for your child to practice reading and writing.

Thank you Mrs. Walker for a great idea!
