What: We wanted to show how our school is bridging communication between school and home. We are beginning to use our campus/class websites, blogging, podcasting, and vodcasting to help with communication and teaching students technology applications.
Why: Parents and Teachers working together will benefit and improve student achievement. We know how important it is for parents to have knowledge of what their children are learning. These connections will increase their learning experience. The parents can discuss and add to the connections that their students are making when outside of school. We also know how important it is for the child to feel proud and successful in their own learning experiences. By using and teaching students how to use our class websites, podcasts, vodcasts, and blogging we can publish the work of the students to share with their families. We also want to share important information with the parents and our rules and routines.
Goals

Goals
- To create websites/blogs to enhance communication between home and school. At the beginning of the year, the website/blogs will contain important information about the class routines, school routines, and school procedures. The websites are to be updated once a six weeks and contain relevant curriculum knowledge.
- To begin integrating more technology in the classroom through the use of laptops, video cameras, relevant websites, and digital cameras.
- For students to learn how to communicate with other classes, parents, and the community. To accomplish this goal we would like to have students creating daily blogs that give an account of their daily activities. To help make connections to their everyday learning we would also like to encourage comments from others reading our blogs. Please view attached information.
