    What is Podcasting?

According to Gary Stager, podcasting is
"...the latest innovation to sweep the Internet. In the hands of creative educators, this low-cost low-barrier vehicle for self-expression offers learners the ability to create their own regularly scheduled broadcasts online. Best of all, members of the community can listen to the podcasts at their leisure as new programs are automatically downloaded and installed on their iPod or other digital media player." Listeners need not even have an iPod or MP3 player since the files play from their computers as well.
In other words, you can share your audio over the Internet with little equipment needed. Listeners can subscribe easily to your podcast blog and receive your content automatically. Another cool feature is that once the content is created, it can be shared on flash drives, CD's or via email as well.
