    8th Grade Technology Literacy Assessment - The Texas Education Agency presented the new reporting requirement of November, 2008 for the first time in Austin on Friday, May 9, 2008. Three expectations outlined by No Child Left Behind (NCLB) will be reported on in November, 2008. These three expectations include 1) Assessment of technology literacy for eighth graders; 2) Assessment of technology literacy for teachers, librarians and administrators; and 3) Assessment of the number of computers available to students for instruction by Internet access type.

    FitnessGram Initiative - This initiative is state-mandated. The focus is to prevent diabetes, obesity and measure fitness. It involves centralized tracking of fitness information.

    WOISD Nature Center - White Oak ISD owns approximately twenty acres behind the elementary campus and the bus barn that is impossible to build structures on due to the terrain and pipelines from oil and gas companies. The proposal is that it be turned into a nature center outdoor classroom for all of our students to enjoy and learn from with the ultimate goal of improving our science knowledge and increasing awareness among students of science-based occupations.
